Many folks will not soon forget March 23rd -- our very own mini-"Blizzard of '09." Certainly not as long as the memorable "Blizzard of '49," but extremely disruptive of business as usual across a very wide area.
This photograph -- and several following -- were snapped by YPA President Lorraine Collins. Many thanks to Lorraine for sharing her photos.
It looks rather serene, but that's very misleading. Despite the short window of opportunity, Mother Nature unleashed a very severe storm -- in a very quick fashion.
Lorraine's photos were taken with her Olympus digital camera. Here's another photo looking toward the southwest.
Looking south from the Collins' -- this is the Miller home.
A shot looking pretty much in a westerly direction toward the cul-du-sac.
This photo was taken from where it's best to be during a storm such as this -- inside! Notice the formidible drift in front of the Collins' window.
Winds created some lovely drifts -- not so lovely to shovel!
This photo was sent to us by Al and Laceta Setera. It's looking eastward across Evans Park, just north of Yellowstone Place.
Back in Yellowstone Place, snow removal was finally completed on Thursday afternoon. Still much snow in the street and elsewhere, but walks and drives were cleared.
Take note of that blue sky!
Again, many thanks to Lorraine Collins for sending us these photos of our "annual spring storm."
